Archdiocese & School Chaplain

At Saint Edmund Arrowsmith our school chaplain, Ms J. Currall, plays a key role in the life of the school and the school community.

Welcome from our school chaplain, Ms J. Currall:

"Thank you everybody for making me feel so welcome since starting here as your school chaplain. You've been really encouraging and helpful. Just a little info about me - I was an R.E teacher for many years at a school in Liverpool and found working with young people both a delight and a challenge and, of course, very rewarding. My parish is St. Michael's & Sacred Heart near Liverpool city centre. I really take seriously Jesus' invitation to work for justice and peace and have worked with others on a number of projects, among them visiting and monitoring an agricultural project in East Timor. Every Sunday I join a group which provides a hearty meal for local vulnerable people in my parish.
I'm looking forward to working with all those people who care for you here and to help us grow together to be the people Jesus calls us to be. We'll help each other to explore what Jesus teaches so we might discover the direction he wants us to go. We'll do this in lots of different ways – through retreat days, here and away from school, awareness and fund raising events, visiting speakers, and through prayer time together. In the coming weeks we'll be setting up a Chaplaincy Team to share ideas and support one another and a Justice and Peace Group. I hope you'll join in.
Probably the most important part of my job is to listen to you whenever you need me. Sometimes life isn't easy and at different times we all have to face things that are really difficult, so it's important you know that I'm here if you need to talk things through."

Our School Prayer:

Lord Jesus
Lead us to respect and value each other this day, so that the gifts and talents you have given us may help us to live the life Jesus brought us in all its fullness
