Road Closures

Posted at 10:20 am on 29th November, 2019

Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

Please find below a consultation plan showing the proposed junction improvement works to install traffic signals at Stoney Lane/ Cumber Lane.

The works are programmed to start on site Monday 2nd December with the first phase likely to be completed by 24th December. The works will be undertaken with a temporary eastbound road closure in place which will prevent traffic travelling along Stoney Lane from the Dragon Lane/ Stoney Lane junction to the hospital access road. A formal diversion route will be put in place directing traffic via Dragon Lane, Warrington Road, Old Lane and back on to Stoney Lane. The initial works, phase 1, will be to undertake works in the footway on the hospital side of Stoney Lane.

Works will restart on 6th January, with the temporary eastbound closure reintroduced after the two week Christmas break, to undertake the remaining three phases mainly located on the two corners of Cumber Lane. The works in the New Year are likely to take three months to complete and will include carriageway resurfacing works at the junction and the traffic signals commissioning. The works are being undertaken primarily by Framework Contractor, Tarmac, and their contact details should be advertised on scheme information boards erected on site at the start of the works.

Knowsley Council apologise for any inconvenience and possible delays due to these works.
