Pupil Premium

The pupil premium is a Government initiative that provides additional funding for pupils currently entitled to Free School Meals (FSM) and those that have been entitled to FSM at any point in the last 6 years. The pupil premium is also available to children in care (CiC) and those that have been adopted from care under the Adoption and Children Act 2002 and children who have left care under a Special Guardianship or Residence Order. Pupils who have parents in the armed forces are also entitled to an additional amount of money.

At Saint Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic High School we will use this additional funding to ensure continued progress and attainment for those pupils eligible for the pupil premium. We strive to ensure our FSM, CiC/adopted and service children, 'close the attainment and progress gap' between themselves and non- FSM, CiC/adopted and service pupils.

Please refer to the documents below for further information about our school's pupil premium grant allocation amount, a summary of the main barriers to educational achievement faced by eligible pupils at our school and how we will spend the pupil premium to overcome those barriers, how we will measure the effect of the pupil premium and the date of the next review of the school's pupil premium strategy.
